The Colosseum’s Stories

The Colosseum’s stories are hidden in every crack. Trying to find The Colosseum was a tough task for me (more on that later), but when I found it, the journey from Los Angeles to Rome was worth it. Here are some photographs from the trip.

I remember shooting this and thinking, “I have to get this focus right.” I was just making sure I got this shot because it was so amazing to me. I love the color version of this, too, but the black and white version makes it look more timeless. And shout out to the birds in the background looking all tiny next to the enormous Colosseum.

The vendors were out in full force.

This shot was taken while inside of The Colosseum. The clouds cooperated on this day.

This was also taken while inside of The Colosseum. There are so many layers and textures inside.

I took this while the tour guide was saying very important things.

I shot this while walking back to the hotel. When I walked past it earlier, I missed it. It was dark then, so it probably wasn’t visible. But on the way back, I thought it’d be cool to take this since it’s not a shot you often see of The Colosseum… or at least not one I see often.

I also shot this while walking away. Those roads are too great.

This was one of the first shots I took at sunrise that day. Just loved how it lined up. SONY DSC
