I was fortunate enough to photograph Fashawn’s The Ecology release party/concert at The Echoplex in Los Angeles last week. I was already expecting it to be a great night of dope music, but it actually turned out to be even more notable than I had imagined thanks to some legendary appearances that even made Fash say it was the best show of his life.
Nas, Everlast, Dilated Peoples, Aloe Blacc, Blu, Exile and a slew of other guests made the night special. Thankfully, I was able to cover the show for MTV News, so if you’re interested in an in-depth rundown, check out the article here. And if you’ve never heard of Fashawn, the latest artist to release an album via Nas’ Mass Appeal Records label, here’s my recent interview with Fash (also via MTV News) where he runs down some key parts of his life and his latest album. You can actually listen to the album The Ecology there, too.
I shot a lot of images at the event and they didn’t all fit in the articles above, so I opted to post them here. But before we get to (more of) the images, I’d like to thank the great folks at MTV News for giving me the opportunity and for editing the pieces, of course. So, major thanks to Rob Markman and Adam Fleischer and the whole squad. Also, of course, thanks to Mass Appeal Records, Annie Chen, and Aren Hekimian for setting up the interviews. And thank you for taking a moment to check these shots out. Hope you dig ’em.
